Nushagak Cooperative Provides Junk Mail Filter to Nushtel Internet Customers |
Are you getting a lot of junk mail in your Inbox? Do you wish there was a way you could control the type of messages you get? There is a solution! All Nushagak e-mail accounts are given complimentary access to a message filtering service called Postini. Postini is an e-mail protection service the provides each user with a Message Center where spam and viruses are filtered and quarantined. Your legitimate e-mail messages are delivered to your e-mail Inbox, just as they always have been, but junk and virus-infected e-mail is routed to your Message Center. When a customer first signs up for an e-mail account, they are sent a "Welcome" e-mail message. This message contains your log-in address and a temporary password. You will be asked to create a new password after first log-in. The quarantine settings allow you to select the specific categories of junk e-mail that you want blocked from your inbox. The categories are:
By default, the junk mail filter is turned off. It is up to you to decide whether or not you would like to turn the filter on. Select the specific category of junk e-mail that you want to block from your Inbox. The spam filter can be set from Lenient to Aggressive. Adjust the settings to personalize your level of protection. If it has been some time since you first signed up for your e-mail account, and you would like to either activate or change the postini filter settings, go to: http://login.postini.com. Type in your e-mail address, and enter any characters in the password box. You will get an error message, but this will lead you to a link that says, "forgot your password?" This is an opportunity to have the service send a temporary password to your Inbox, and enable you to access your Message Center.
